| Hi, my name is Kristin Downey, and I've had a life long passion for horses. I have ridden and been around horses for most of my life. I have a wonderful husband, Joe, who helps me and the program out a lot, and I also have four "children"... a horse, 2 dogs, and a cat. I first heard about Equine Assisted Therapy from an article in The Current newspaper in March 2004. I called Ginni up as soon as I read the article, and signed up for the first volunteer training. I started coming to EAT to work with the horses, and fell in love with the riders and I have never left. I started working on my NARHA instructor certification in November of 2004, and finished in April of 2005. I really love working with both the riders and the volunteers. It is so nice to work with such a wonderful group of people that truly care. I really feel that this program is my calling in life. Everyday that I go home from a long day of hard work I feel truly blessed and lucky to be working with such a great program. Kristin Downey kdmonaco@hotmail.com |
